A Life Well Lived

Obituary

In Loving Memory of Lyanna Precious Ottley Sunrise: January 12, 1988 Sunset: June 28, 2026 "Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23 It is with profound sadness, yet hearts full of gratitude for a life beautifully lived, that we celebrate the life and legacy of Lyanna Precious Ottley, whose unwavering faith, boundless love, and vibrant spirit touched countless lives. Born on January 12, 1988, on Serraneau Road, Belmont, Lyanna was a radiant light from the very beginning. In 2004, she relocated to Chaguanas, where she spent most of her life building lasting friendships, pursuing her dreams, and making a meaningful impact within her community. Lyanna began her educational journey at Belmont Government Primary School, continued at Success Laventille Secondary School, and remained committed to lifelong learning. She earned qualifications in Accounting from The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine and later achieved her Bachelor's Degree in Project Management from Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies. Her determination, discipline, and passion for excellence paved the way for a successful career as a Business Operations Assistant (BOA) at the Ministry of National Security, where she was respected for her professionalism, dedication, and willingness to serve. Above all else, Lyanna loved God. Her faith was the foundation upon which she built her life. She was a devoted and active member of Holy Mt. Zion International Spiritual Baptist Cathedral, where she faithfully participated in church activities and joyfully used her gifts in service to God and others. Worship was more than a routine, it was her way of life. Music filled Lyanna's heart, especially gospel music. She found great joy in singing songs of praise, lifting her voice with passion and conviction. She was also drawn to the peace and beauty of the sea, where she found moments of reflection and comfort in God's creation. Purple, her favourite colour, perfectly reflected the royalty, grace, and elegance she carried throughout her life. To know Lyanna was to love her. She possessed a personality that could light up any room. She was kind, loving, patient, expressive, vibrant, and unapologetically herself. Her laughter was contagious, her voice unforgettable, and her presence impossible to ignore. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Her popularity was not measured by the number of people who knew her, but by the countless lives she genuinely touched through her warmth, compassion, generosity, and authenticity. Though her earthly journey has ended far sooner than anyone wished, Lyanna leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, selfless love, joyful service, and unforgettable memories. Her life reminds us to love deeply, serve faithfully, and trust God completely. Today, we celebrate not only the years she lived but the extraordinary difference she made in the lives of those blessed enough to know her. While her voice has been silenced on earth, we find comfort in knowing that she now joins the heavenly choir, singing eternal praises before the throne of God. May her beautiful soul rest in God's eternal peace, and may her memory forever remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
